Embroidered bucket hats are used in the summer season as a substitute for straw hats, outdoor hats and fishing hats. These also protect the neck from ultraviolet rays of the sun.

Embroidered bucket hats are becoming more popular because they act as a walking billboard for a company. The embroidered bucket hats are great for promotional or gift giving during trade shows and outdoor marketing events. The hat can promote business, events, schools and organizations, even during holidays.

This is a lasting marketing tool to be seen by many. It is a great corporate gift and exciting giveaway.

The materials used for embroidered hats are cotton, denim, canvas, nylon. Even in cotton, there are different varieties like 100% washed cotton, cotton twill, etc. There is also pigment-dyed washed bucket hat, normal-dyed washed bucket hat, washed cotton bucket hat, assorted print bucket hat, pigment-dyed bucket hat, flower-print bucket hat, bio-washed bucket hat, pigment-dyed bucket hat zipper pocket, safari-style bucket hat, etc.

The sizes of embroidered bucket hats also vary as per the head size of the person. If the head size is 6"-7 1/8", then small and medium bucket hats will fit.

But if the head size is 7 1/4" -7 3/4", then large and extra-large embroidered bucket hats will fit.

Bucket hat styles vary as per the gender of the user. For girls, bucket hats come in flower, denim, and embroidered sun designs, whereas for boys, corduroy newsboy caps, denim hats, camouflage twill hunting hats are popular.

The customer has to select the color and size of the hat and embroidery position like front center, right side, left side, back or all sides. If embroidered bucket hats are customized, then the customer has to select the font faces, thread color, personalized text, etc. to be used in embroidered bucket hat.

Careful combination of fabric, color, style, comfort and embroidery make an embroidered bucket hat a qualitative product. This is a gift commonly praised by all who get it..

The election season could be a launching pad for two University of Maine graduates who have started a business at UMaine's Target Technology Center in Orono. Ashley Perry and Andrea Duquette graduated from UMaine last May and have created a company, Intellectual Threads, Inc. to market "intellectually savvy" clothing designs.???While they build the foundation for their new firm with business assistance at the Target Center, they are also working for Electoral College Sportswear and Accessories, Inc., a company owned by John and Marcia Diamond of Glenburn. Perry and Duquette are making arrangements to promote the company's shirts and hats at this summer's Democratic and Republican conventions. They are also managing the company's website, www.electoralcollegeusa.com.???In Boston, the pair has been getting a lesson in the difficulties of navigating through bureaucratic and retail business channels.

The Democratic National Committee had initially wanted to host a vendor fair for businesses to sell products to delegates and other convention participants, says Duquette, but security concerns led city officials to deny approval for the fair.???Although the convention offers opportunities to reach the public outside the meeting halls, the city advised Perry and Duquette to investigate opportunities to collaborate with existing businesses. The pair is pursuing the possibility of placing Electoral College hats and shirts in businesses near Fanueil Hall. ???"There is also a demonstration zone being set up where we can reserve 50-minute blocks of time. We're thinking of doing that to hold an Electoral College 'Pep Rally' and also having a political trivia quiz with shirts and hats as prizes. That would help us get things out there," adds Perry.???In New York, arrangements for vendors appear to be more straightforward.

"We can buy a city vendor permit and go set up anywhere we can on the street. As long as we don't block the flow of traffic on the sidewalk, we should be all right," says Duquette.???Electoral College products are printed by the W.S. Emerson Co. in Brewer. During the disputed ballot controversy of the 2000 election, the company increased sales dramatically and was even featured on The Today Show.???"We worked with Sephone Internet Solutions of Bangor to redo our (Electoral College) website," says Perry.

They are also investigating other ways to develop the business.???"We've been learning a lot about product distribution, retail business, and the benefits of e-commerce," says Duquette. "We're hoping that this will be a launching pad for our own company. Our goal is to do marketing, not to manage the production and distribution end of a business," she adds.???While both have bachelor's degree in business, Duquette has a master's in public administration, and Perry has a master's of business administration. During their degree programs, they worked as technical assistants at Target, providing grant writing and market research services to business tenants and affiliates..

Perhaps nothing says "garden party" like having afternoon tea outdoors. It's a charming reminder of bygone days and childhood make-believe. Outdoor spaces of all kinds, including balconies, can be successfully adapted to a tea party. Tea parties span generations and will be enjoyed by your most sophisticated women friends or all the giggling little girls of your acquaintance. What makes an elegant tea party? Look at these factors.

FlowersPlan to hold your tea party when your garden is in its fullest bloom -- perhaps it's lilac time, June roses, or peony season. Be sure to cut some of the blooms for the tea table vases. If you don't have a garden, buy an armful of flowers at a farmers' market or stop by a country ditch and pick bunches of wild daisies and Queen Anne's lace. InvitationsSend handwritten notes by snail mail. Your guests will recognize your party as an elegant affair and dress accordingly! Typically, tea is held around 4 p.m.

-- perfect for day-blooming flowers. Include an invitation for the little ones to bring along a doll or teddy friend. Table SettingThe more elegant, the better. Stash the paper table covering and the plastic glasses just for today. Instead, use a crisp linen tablecloth, pressed cloth napkins and your best bone china cups and saucers.

If it's a little girls' party, you might want to invest in two or three miniature tea sets. Try to have adequate seating for everyone. Consider setting your straight-back indoor dining chairs outdoors. They can add an elegant touch, whether left unadorned or covered with flowered chintz. HatsEncourage all of your guests to wear hats -- big-brimmed, floppy and flowered.

If the party is for little girls, collect old hats, scarves and silk flowers at a thrift shop, yard sale or discount store. Make decorating the hats a fun activity at the party. You can also include a box of flowery cast-offs for dressing up. Include "grown-up" shoes and old jewellery -- anything that will make the little ones feel elegant. Tea time is a fun way to introduce young ones to "elegant party" manners.

FoodOther than teaspoons, no cutlery should be required at tea. All sandwiches and sweets should be dainty finger-food. Try sandwiches of watercress, cucumber, or egg with the crusts removed and cut in quarters. Sugar cookies and petit fours are traditional sweets. You can substitute mini-cupcakes or tiny tarts.

TeaOne of the first things that I learned in seventh grade home economics class was how to brew a proper pot of hot tea, but that was many years ago. I suspect that tea-making is becoming a lost art. Tea is actually the common name of one plant: Camillia sinesis. The three basic types of tea -- black, green and oolong -- are distinguished by the amount of oxidization that the tea leaves have undergone. The more than 3,000 varieties of tea in the world are all derived from those three basic types.

Herbal teas -- more properly, tisane or infusion -- are made from a wide variety of flowers, herbs, barks, berries, fruits and spices. At a minimum, offer your guests a traditional tea and a caffeine-free herbal choice. Have milk (not cream!), sugar and fresh lemon wedges available. So, dust off your teacups and your manners and sit down with your girlfriends for a proper tea party. It's a lovely summer interlude!.

A mannequin head is a life-size head that includes all of the features of a human face. Mannequin heads can be used in several different situations. They can be used to model hats, wigs, makeup, or be used as practice dummies by people learning to cut hair in beauty school. Mannequin heads can be made to look like all types of people and are built to scale, giving them a lifelike look that is almost eerie. Mannequin heads are usually made of foam, plastic, or vinyl.

Mannequin heads are often used in stores to model hats. It is much easier and more efficient to use a mannequin head rather than an entire life-size mannequin to display a hat. Stores can set up displays that include several mannequin heads on spaces as small as a table. Stores can use nearly any kind of mannequin head to display hats, they do not necessarily have to be colored or have hair, but they can to give shoppers a better look of how the hats will look on a real person.

Mannequin heads are good for displaying wigs as well.

Mannequin heads made to resemble different common head and face shapes can give people a good idea of what the different wigs look like on different people. Since all people have unique faces, it is a good idea to get mannequin heads that look different from each other in order to let customers see how the different colors and hairstyles of the wigs will accent different people's faces.

Mannequin heads with actual human hair are often used in beauty schools as training tools. Students can learn what it is like to cut a real person's hair by practicing on realistic mannequin heads.

Mannequin heads are useful in many different situations.

They can display headwear and wigs and be used as valuable training tools for beauty school students..

If you ask me exactly how it happened, I couldn't tell you, but somewhere during our annual reunion meeting, I was entrusted with the task of researching then ordering a variety of custom caps and embroidered hats for the next international family reunion. Now some of you may think that this would be an honor. Some of you may be thinking what's the big deal, but let me tell you the scope of the ordeal that I had just thrown in my lap?

Now lucky for me I am somewhat Internet savvy and that I had a fair chunk of time before the reunion. So I set out on my favorite search engine and started researching the terms ?custom caps' and ?embroidered hats'. Thankfully there is no shortage of companies that offer custom caps and embroidered hats.

But the question is how do I pick which company, when I am not entirely sure even what I want or need?

So first I sat down and tried to make a list of the different types of embroidered hats and custom caps that people might buy at a family reunion. Hats embroidered with the family crest, the family name and year, the first initial and may be some fun embroidered hats that had sayings like "I survived my family reunion".

I also looked in to custom caps for the younger generation. To get our family youth interested, I looked at custom caps like beanies, bucket caps, skull caps, visors, golf caps, knit caps, straw hats and winter hats. These too I could have embroidered, probably with an initial and a year.

So now that I had a bit of an idea what I wanted, I looked to see what companies were offering.

Baseball caps were the first type of embroidered hat I looked at, as it would be the most suitable to put all the different embroidery logos on and most likely to be purchased by the majority of attendees. Who knew that there were so many different choices involved in just picking the hat to be embroidered? Ball caps come in a variety of backings and fabrics. Common backings include fitted, elastic, Velcro straps, adjustable snaps, metal D-ring slide closure and metal buckle closure. Ball caps commonly come in cotton, twill, canvas, wool blended, mesh or a combination of these fabrics.

So which do I choose? I know what fabric and backing I would prefer on my embroidered hat but that is not necessarily what everyone would prefer.

So do I get a variety of each type of embroidered hat or just one type? In the end I decided to go the middle of the road. I would get two styles of embroidered hat for each design and mix up the combinations. That way there was bound to be an embroidered hat that everyone could live with.

Next I looked at the custom caps. By this time my head was spinning from all the different types of custom caps. Thankfully, I had chosen a single design for my custom caps.

This way I only had to order a bunch of each type of custom cap with the one design.

Of course I still hadn't tackled the issue of color for the embroidered hats and custom caps. I had procrastinated on this subject as long as possible, but it had come time to make a choice. I could go with one color which would be easiest, but displease a lot of people or I could pick a dozen or so colors, one for each design and still displease a ton of people or order one of every color and displease the committee. Not a fun choice, but once again I tried for the happy medium.

I ordered each embroidered hat and custom cap in three colors, but not the same three colors. Once again, I could only hope that this would please the majority of people.

While I had an image of our crest, I still had to decide on the embroidery lettering style for the custom caps and embroidered hats. In this instance, I decided that all custom caps and embroidered hats should have the same style of lettering. I decide to choose the style closest to the font used for banners at the reunion. Thank goodness there was one relatively easy choice.

Now to look at which embroidery company could provide for all the choices I had made for the embroidered hats and custom caps and what it was going to cost per each item (which would help me decide how many to order), the shipping cost and how long it would take to arrive.

While scrolling through the results from the search engines, I found a company that did custom caps and embroidered hats that looked appropriate.

I emailed them who I was, approximately what I wanted, my budget and when I needed it. From here it was smooth sailing (thankfully) for me. I had found an awesome company who worked with me to provide exactly what I needed at a very reasonable cost. They had no minimum order or setup requirements. Once they quoted what it would be for each embroidered hat and custom cap as well as what volume discounts could be, I was able to set my quantity for each.

The delivery time was two weeks from the date the logos were approved, but I did have the option of a rush delivery for an extra cost.

Two weeks later I had boxes of custom caps and embroidered hats. It was just like Christmas!!!

So how did it turn out at the reunion? Pretty well everything considered for my first time. Of course some people wanted this design with that fabric and this other color and so on, but on the whole, people were pretty happy. We were near to selling out all our custom caps and embroidered hats. Even the younger generation thought that they were pretty cool.

The beanies went like wild fire!

Infact, the committee was so pleased with the job I did, that they wanted me to look into other embroidered items for next year. Just my luck?

Art and skill go into the manufacture of hats. Hatters have to keep in mind the weather conditions of a particular area while designing headgear. This explains the regional differences in cowboy hats that come in a variety of colors, textures and patterns.

The American Hat Company in Houston, Texas, has been in the business of fitting and molding cowboy hats, both straw and felt, for almost a century. Established in 1915, the company can count among its clients, greats like George H Bush Sr., Rick Perry, Dusty Hill, Lyle Lovett, Dennis Weaver, Shaquille O'Neal and Craig Biggio among others.

Montana Mad Hatters fashion hats for working cowboys. Cattle ranchers are hard to please, as they know exactly how they want their hats to fit and feel.

This is incentive enough to strive for perfection.

The Jackson Hole Hat Company, established in 1983, revived styles of the past that had gone into oblivion. The Jackson Hole Retail Store has its headquarters at Wyoming. Hats come in 24 colors and have 15 styles. As many of the employees grew up and worked on cattle ranches, their input is invaluable to the manufacturers to meet the exacting standards of the average cattle rancher. Beaver cowboy hats are their specialty.

John Batterson Stetson was born into a family of hatters.

Durability was the hallmark of his products. In 1865, he produced the "Boss of the Plains" hat. It came in a choice of colors and weighed two ounces. It was popular because it could be molded into any shape the wearer desired. The company later preshaped hats and brought out styles like the Bronco, Dakota, Austin, Roundup, Big Four, Carp, Carlsbad and Calgary, to name a few.

The Ten Gallon hat, invented in 1865, was more popular on-screen than off it, probably because the average cowboy didn't see the practicality of it.

When a hat is bought, the salesperson steams and shapes it to best suit the individual. On an average a hat could cost anything between 14 to 35 dollars, making a huge dent in a cowboy's salary..

Chef hats have a history that can be traced as far as the beginning of the centuries. Although the real origin is not really known, it does go back a long way. It is a popular belief that the chefs in the courts of Iran and the nearby nations wore the chef hats even in the B.C. times, although for reasons that might be different from now. However, the shape and sizes must have considerably undergone some drastic changes since then.

Even with all the noticeable changes, the chef hat is still being worn by all the chefs and cooks worldwide to avoid stray hair from falling into the dish being prepared allowing contamination of the dish.

Tradition indicates that the number of pleats on the headdress indicates the experience of the chef. Of course, this means the head chef, who is the one with the maximum experience gets to wear a hat with a hundred pleats. Although a hundred pleats are not found on a head chef's hat these days, these hats do contain the most number of pleats still. The number of pleats also indicates the number of ways the chef can prepare a dish as so any head chef worthy of the title must be allowed to wear a head chef hat in honor of the knowledge possessed.

A chef's hat worn these days is mostly a covering for the head than to depict any other symbolism. They also come in different sizes, heights and shapes depending on who would be wearing them. All the cooks, chefs, and others involved in the kitchen work are supposed to wear them without fail - taking hygiene into account more than anything else.

History indicates toque to have been worn by both men and women as a head covering while cooking. French, Italian, Spanish, German and other countries adopted a unique style by the early 16th century.

Although the basic usage remained the same, to cover the head to avoid any stray hairs from falling into the dish being prepared, unique styles had come into vogue and were very distinguishable from one another. They were also named different in different languages, although they are all popular currently as the chef's hats.

Starched cloth and wool chef hats came into picture in the early 17th century in many countries. These are still popular as along with keeping the hair in place, they also absorb the heat and sweat caused due to the heat in the kitchens. Early 19th century saw a revolution in the chef's hats.

Chefs dealing with various food preparations ended up putting on different caps to be distinguished in their areas of specializations.

Even with all the advancements in the history of chef hats, they still distinguish the chefs and the cooks even when they are currently made from paper and fiber instead of cloth. Cooks and chefs all over the world wear these hats regardless of the history and the tradition, which resulted in evolution of the chef hats..

Initially, chef hats were made of stiff starched cloth that was pleated as per tradition. These tended to become limp and worn as time passes due to the frequent washes they are subjected to. Also, it was a long and tiring process to ensure that the pleats were all in place and the hat is stiff enough so as not to sag on the chef's head. Starch was a necessary ingredient to keep the hat up and smart looking.

An excellent alternative to all the process of washing, starching and ironing the chef's hat came up in the recent years.

This was to use paper hats instead of cloth hats. Paper hats that are fiber constructed and so are stiff and formal looking; they can be replaced every few days as the hats start to sag or become dirty due to sweat and splatters that occur every so often in the kitchens.
